Risoul 1850 is a village of only 656 inhabitants is located in the French South Alps near the Italian border. It belongs to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d´Azur Region in the « Hautes Alpes ». Risoul "La Forêt Blanche" is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Southern Alps. The ski area, the accommodation, the non-skiing and all-season activities, makes Risoul a popular location in the Hautes-Alpes. The ski area has 52 ski lifts and 185 kilometres of downhill ski slopes, which offers to customers an exceptional destination between 1850 and 2750 meters above sea level. The main slopes are north-facing, which ensures a high quality of snow. Snowfalls are reinforced by extensive snowmaking facilities to ensure a high snow quality all through the winter.
